Master

Master Stack

KPA Master provides communication of an IPC system with EtherCAT network. The master uses a standard Ethernet controller, which is a significant cost saving factor in process control. KPA Master implemented as an EtherCAT specification based master using ANSI "C" and object-oriented design model.

Specifications

  • Master-slave data exchange protocols via mail box communication (SDO transfer).
  • Cable redundancy allows to detect cable break and continue operation with available segments.
  • API provides access to Master for runtime or/and configuration tools.

Functions

  • I/O data exchange
  • Acyclic data exchange.
  • Distributed clocks.
  • Servers for multiple TCP/IP or/and UDP connections.
  • CANopen over EtherCAT (CoE),
  • File over EtherCAT (FoE),
  • Ethernet over EtherCAT (EoE).
  • Master and Slaves state control.
  • Slave alternative addressing (alias).
  • Slave-to-Slave communication on Master side.
  • EtherCAT frames logger and scheduler.
  • Events logging.
  • Network diagnostic.
