Vision-based inspection slave system VSVG-4

Vision-based inspection module system VSVG-4

VSVG-4 functional purpose

  • Collection of video-data from the connected camcorders (video output PAL) and digitalizing;
  • Image processing with the help of built-in software to determine the contours of a production unit (if there is a need);
  • Transfer of the digitalized data and calculation results to the methods computer.

Data exchange between VSVG-4 and methods computer is executed through Ethernet 802.3 local network.

Implementation

Positioning system

VSVG-4 was developed for precise positioning of PCBs on the technological line. The resulting positioning system has surpassed the system based on discrete lazer-sensors. Whereas the bottleneck of the former was precision in detecting the PCB placement, VSVG-4 has demonstrated the characteristics that exceed the possibilities of the positioning system’s mechanical part.

Video surveillance system

Being a part of PTVS video surveillance system, VSVG-4 is successfully used to monitor major sections of automated technological plating lines at ATOTECH (Germany). The video surveillance system is integrated in SCADA system that controls the technological process. Video-data from the cameras is transferred to the operator’s monitor and recorded to the PC’s hard drive at the same time. In case of emergency situation in the surveillance area, video-data is archived by the SCADA system request which allows to view it later binded to the emergency messages in order to determine the reasons behind the emergency situation.
